Rapid List

How to use Rapid List
We recommend the following steps:

  1. Fill out default values to be used by entering information in your Prefilled Fields options.
  2. Create an auction and assign consignors using Auction Setup.
  3. Download the Sample Minimum CSV File to see the mandatory data for each lot/item and the column names (there are only 3).
NOTE: COLUMN NAMES MUST BE SPELLED AS EXACTLY as shown in the downloaded example(s). Most of the other information needed is taken from your Prefilled Fields and system defaults. You can over ride the defaults by adding other Column headings with a value for all lots or just 1 or more. If no over ride value is entered for a lot in the CSV file that lot will use your prefilled value or the system default.
IE: Start Price is $5.00 instead of default of $1.00.
  4. We recommend using an individual CSV files for each consignor that you have assigned to the auction these lots belong in. Otherwise you will need to create a more complex CSV file as defined in the Sample Full CSV File that you can download. If you wish a more complex CSV file we recommend familiarizing yourself with the details found under the tabs called Description, File Structure, Auctions/Consignors, Categories, Locations, and Payment Methods.
  5. IMAGES:
browsers have built-in security that does not allow direct access to your computer. You do not have to name your images in a rigid manner since you are assigning them to your lots.
So below are 2 ways you can add images to your listing.
    1. Upload CSV file containing no image access links as a Draft. Once upload completes you will automatically be shown a list of items in Draft mode. To right of each lot are several action buttons. Select the YELLOW button label "Select Images" to upload your images OR just select the images on your computer. Then drag/drop images onto the button. If needed, you can re-arrange the image order in the the popup window. Click on SAVE to add images to the lot.
    2. If you can setup a directory where you have your website hosted or have access to an internet photo hosting service that you can upload your photos to. You can upload your images into a folder on your server and enter the full URL to the folder in the "Image Location" field on the Rapid List page form. When you create  the CSV file enter the names of the image files for each item under the Images column heading. If there is more than one image for an item separate the names with || . The system can then pull the images from your server location.
IE: "http(s)://mywebsitename.com/rapidlistimages/" would go in field Image Location.
In CSV file under column heading of Images you would put "myimage1.jpg||myimage2.jpg" or whatever you name the images.

IMPORTANT: The system will do its best to load the images from your location onto this server. But in case there are problems do not remove images from your internet directory so they can be obtained from there. The process of loading the images to this server will take several minutes. During that time it may look as though some of your images are broken. If that happens try reloading the page.

VERY IMPORTANT: Once the CSV file is uploaded and the processing has begun DO NOT leave the page until you see message that the upload has completed or you will loose data.
