Auction Setup & Assigning Consignors
NOTE: This part of the website is crucial to setting up your auctions. This is the area where you will define your auctions and assign consignor(s) to the auction. It is also where you will assign the terms of the auction as it pertains to each individual consignor in a unique auction(ie. unique identifier for the consignor, commission, and extra fees)
Below is an explanation of the sections of this page:
Auction Setup Information
- This is where you define a unique identifier for your auction which
will be used as a subcategory under your main exclusive category name
and the type of auction. NEW is a new auction defined
in the system. You can select an already defined auction to change
information via drop down menu.
Bid Increments is used for all lots in the auction you are
creating/updating. You can select Defaults, enter a flat increment to
use for all lots or select a custom scale you created under Global
Settings.
If this is to be an auction Featured on the Homepage, click on the box and upload a a photo representing the auction. The software will create a front page "add" for this auction using your account information. The front page "add" will be displayed AFTER some lots are listed under that auction. Once displayed, a user can click on the "add" to be displayed the entire list of lots currently available for bidding in that Auction.
You can setup up any special instructions/information that will show up on the bottom of every invoice sent out to winning bidders. Once you have entered the auction information, click on Create/Update Auction.
Notice that under the section where you possibly entered invoice footer information an URL unique
to your auction was created. You can copy and past this into your
website and/or other websites you use to promote the sale. PLUS
there is an added function labeled "Generate the Remote List Script".
If you click on the blue phrase Click Here a popup menu will be
displayed that you can selectively setup for listing your auction
directly on your website. This will look as if it's only your site
running the online and allows registered users to bid from your web
site.
Defining a Prebid Auction -
To define an auction as an Internet Prebid (absentee bid type) auction,
select NEW, click on box next to Prebid Auction, Enter the date of the LIVE
auction, click on box Notify High bidder if you wish to notify the high
bidder in the online Prebid part of your auction otherwise leave it
blank. You can also make this type of Auction a Featured on Homepage one.
Consignor Information - This is where you will select consignors previously entered using the Consignor Setup part of the Seller Tools. You also will enter other information that only pertains to that consignor. You can have as many consignors as you wish assigned to a single auction and charge all of them totally different commissions and fees.
While each section is separate, when you are assigning consignors and terms to an auction you will need to first select a created auction(no matter what type it is), second select
predefined consignors (one at a time) to assign to the auction. You can
also remove a consignor accidentally assigned to an auction.
You may assign as many consignors as you wish to a particular auction.
