You have the option to close an auction lot before it's end of time.

Go to My Account -> Members Area -> Selling -> Open.  You will be shown a list of all your active open for bidding lots. Click on the lot you wish to close. Scroll down a little and you will see some items under the Blue bar for placing a bid. Click on the icon that looks like a Gear labeled Manage. In the drop down menu click on Close to close the auction.

When you close a lot early it will not show up on the automatically generated invoices at the auction's close.

It will show up in your My Account -> Members Area -> Selling -> Closed section still containing bid information.
